Getting to the glenorchy lake house

The 45-minute drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy is one of the top scenic drives in the world. The 45-kilometre gently winding road hugs the shores of Lake Wakatipu and winds around the foot of the Richardson Mountain range. Many car advertisements have been filmed on this stretch of road, and there are several areas for you to pull over and safely enjoy the spectacular view.

Driving directions

In Queenstown, follow Shotover Street as it becomes Beach Street and ultimately The Esplanade.
Continue straight through the roundabout and follow the signs to Glenorchy.
After 45 kilometres of jaw-dropping scenery, you will arrive in Glenorchy. Turn left at the round about and drive to the end of Mull Street.
Glenorchy Lake House is located just behind The Trading Post, the last property on the right hand side by the lake.

During business hours, 10am - 4pm, The Trading Post acts as reception for our accommodation, so please check-in upon arrival. Glenorchy Lake House guest parking is located around the corner to the right and is well signposted.
